CANNABIS OIL(CBD OIL): CBD EFFECTS, BENEFITS AND PROPERTIES

Chronic pain? Difficulty sleeping or relaxing?
Anxiety or panic attacks? Choose cannabidiol (CBD) oil and discover and health
benefits. If you have already tried several natural remedies but none have
proven effective, perhaps this is the reason that prompted you to look for a
different solution and inquire about properties. There are so many types
of hemp seed oil on the market, with various formulations and concentration percentages: so which one to choose? And what exactly are its benefits?
Recall the anti-inflammatory, analgesic, pain-relieving properties among many
others.

Before buying Cannabis oil, it is right to seek information to see more clearly, and in the course of your research, you have probably happened to read about CBD oil (also called CBD oil) or Cannabis (or hemp) oil or "hemp extract." But beware: CBD oil and Cannabis oil are not the same thing. In short, Cannabis oil is devoid of CBD! Therefore, you have to pay attention to what you are looking for and understand well what you want to buy.

In this article, we will help you understand how CBD oil can help you and what issues it can help solve.

CBD OIL: WHAT IT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR

WHAT IS CBD OIL?

Let's start by saying that CBD oil is nothing more than 'hemp oil extracted from the non-prohibited parts of a variety of Cannabis sativa L. plants with
low THC content, registered in the European Community Register and allowed for
cultivation for industrial use (so-called Cannabis or light hemp). Recall that THC is the active ingredient in Cannabis responsible for the narcotic (or
psychotropic) effects. CBD, on the contrary, is the main cannabinoid, extracted from the hemp plant, which is non-psychotropic and has no "high effects" (it affects neither the lucidity nor the ability to concentrate and perceive of the person taking it). CBD oil thus contains pure cannabidiol, the second most abundant component of the Hemp Sativa L. plant, or more commonly known as Cannabis. Unlike the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) contained in hemp, CBD, which is isolated from hemp, does not exert for cosmetic applications psychotropic effects, does not exhibit intoxicating or "high" effects or negative psychoactive effects. In fact, CBD is separated from all other compounds derived from cannabis using the same methods normally employed to obtain food additives or essential oils. The amount of CBD or hemp extract present determines the potency of the oil.

Compositions containing CBD for oral use are medicinal and must be
taken with a prescription.

HOW IS CBD OBTAINED TO FORMULATE CBD OIL?

The most common method is called "CO2 extraction" (supercritical
carbon dioxide): under high pressure, CO2 is transformed into a liquid that can
absorb all the essential oils and aromas of the hemp plant. The CO2 is
transformed into a gas. The resulting material must be further refined, using
liquid solvents. This extraction process preserves the natural chemical
properties of CBD and is known to be safe. However, even if the liquid solvents
are evaporated, residual alcohol may not be completely removed. For this
reason, when deciding to purchase CBD oil, it is advisable to use a company
with state-of-the-art extraction technology that is completely solvent-free and
can remove any residue. CBD extracted from hemp is then added to a carrier oil
to make CBD oil. Many carrier oils can be used, but the most commonly used
carrier oil is coconut-derived medium-chain triglyceride oil (MCT oil).
Commercially, CBD can also be found in oil added to almond oil, sunflower oil
and vegetable oil. Thanks to advanced extraction technologies, it is
possible to obtain Full Spectrum CBD oils (full spectrum hemp extract)
that
preserve, in addition to cannabidiol, the entire phytocomplex of the plant
(minerals, vitamins, terpenes, flavonoids and other cannabinoids such as
cannabigerol) and essential fatty acids that are very useful for our health. In
addition, on the market there is the possibility of being able to use CBD oils
without THC: thanks to them you can take advantage of all the benefits of
cannabidiol for cosmetic application in absolute safety and without the risk of being affected by psychotropic effects.

ARE CBD OIL AND HEMP OIL THE SAME THING?

Hemp oil contains the full spectrum of biomolecules extracted from hemp
plants, including a low amount of THC (simpler production process.
The end result is therefore a less processed and refined product. Hemp oil is not
necessarily better than pure CBD oil or vice versa. The choice depends solely
on the specific needs. In addition, hemp oil is not a medicine so it
can be purchased freely.

HOW DOES CBD OIL WORK?

Cannabidiol is a phytocannabinoid and is an exogenous cannabinoid that we
specifically introduce into our bodies. In reality, however, our body produces
and holds endocannabinoids, which are independently produced endogenous
cannabinoids that perform their functions through a finely regulated system
aimed at maintaining bodily homeostasis and that is the body's ideal
physiological balance, called the endocannabinoid system (ECS).

THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM

The endocannabinoid system is the body's own and is composed of
cannabinoids, i.e., molecules, cannabinoid receptors that bind the
aforementioned molecules and enzymes that perform the practical functions of
signal transmission and catalyzing the appropriate reactions. The known
cannabinoid receptors are of two types: CB1 and CB2 receptors.

CB1 receptors are present in the central
and peripheral nervous system (e.g., cerebral cortex, hippocampus, amygdala,
basal ganglia, substantia nigra, medulla, spinal interneurons), but also in the
spleen, heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, kidney, bladder, and reproductive
organs.

CB2 receptors are concentrated in immune
system tissues and cells, such as leukocytes and spleen, but also in nerve cell
astrocytes.

When one decides to take CBD, the latter
acts through the endocannabinoid system, which takes it up and makes it usable
by the body with one purpose: to restore homeostasis, or the body's ideal
physiological balance, where it had failed.

HOW CBD OIL ACTS ON THE BODY

Foremost among the qualities of CBD oil is its ability to act on
inflammation, a condition underlying many chronic diseases not and reduce pain.
Thanks to its properties, CBD is able to support the body in situations of
physiological imbalance.

But how does it work? It acts by interacting with
the body's endocannabinoid system. This system is responsible for regulating a
number of functions, including mood, sleep, appetite, and pain. CBD binds to
CB1 and CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate these
functions.

This is why CBD oil has been shown to be
effective in treating a wide range of health conditions. In addition to
interacting with the endocannabinoid system, taking CBD also has a direct
effect on the brain: it binds to brain receptors responsible for regulating
mood and anxiety. For this reason, it has also been shown to be effective in
treating conditions such as anxiety and depression.

HOW DOES CBD OIL AFFECT THE BRAIN?

CBD, which unlike THC we remember does not have psychotropic effects, acts
indirectly on the receptors of the endocannabinoid system
; in
fact, CBD acts as a "regulator" that can modulate our endocannabinoid
system. CBD, which does not have psychotropic effects like THC, acts indirectly
on the receptors of the endocannabinoid system. It does not target any specific
pathology but acts as a "regulatory" substance that can modulate the
functioning of our endocannabinoid system.

BENEFITS OF CBD OIL

The effects of CBD oil vary from person to person and in general it is a
safe product with no major side effects. After experiencing taking CBD oil,
many people report feeling more relaxed and calm while others report being more
alert and focused, with improved clarity of thought.

CBD oil is typically taken sublingually,
meaning that it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream after being placed
under the tongue: as a result, the effects of the oil can be felt relatively
quickly, sometimes within minutes.

CBD and other cannabis derivatives have
been shown to exert numerous beneficial effects, such as:

Pain relief (modulate neurochemical processes associated with pain
perception)

Anti-inflammatory effects (so it might be useful for patients suffering from
osteoarthritis, arthritis, fibromyalgia or skin disorders)

Improving the quality of sleep, improving the quality of life of people
suffering from insomnia

Decreased frequency and intensity of seizures and convulsions

Antiemetics, limiting the feeling of nausea and the urge to vomit,
especially in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment

anxiolytic effects

Neuroprotective and neurotrophic effects, which mitigate brain damage
associated with neurodegenerative and/or ischemic conditions

antioxidant effects

In any case, CBD oil is used in more or less common conditions and
pathologies, is particularly versatile and easy and immediate to take; in
addition to being conveniently taken sublingually, it can be mixed into foods,
drinks and possibly, in the case of topical use, added to routinely used
products.

BENEFITS OF CBD OIL FOR MENTAL HEALTH

CBD oil is effective in treating various mental health conditions, such as
anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It can help
reduce stress and anxiety levels and has also been shown to be effective in
treating symptoms of psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia. CBD oil can
help improve attention and concentration and reduce symptoms of insomnia.

BENEFITS OF CBD OIL FOR PAIN TREATMENT

CBD oil is effective in reducing inflammation and relieving pain. It can
help reduce muscle soreness and can also help reduce chronic pain associated
with conditions such as arthritis and fibromyalgia. Because of its properties,
CBD oil is also used as an alternative to traditional pain medications, as it
can provide relief without the risk of side effects.

BENEFITS OF CBD OIL FOR SKIN CARE

CBD oil has many benefits for the skin, including reducing inflammation,
reducing acne, and improving skin elasticity; it can also help reduce wrinkles
and fine lines and may even help reduce the appearance of scars and blemishes.

BENEFITS OF CBD OIL FOR ANXIETY AND STRESS

CBD oil is effective for managing anxiety and stress levels, as it can help
reduce tension and promote relaxation; it can also help reduce symptoms of
depression, improve mood and reduce feelings of anxiety.

BENEFITS OF CBD OIL FOR SLEEP DISORDERS

CBD oil can help improve sleep quality, as it can help reduce stress and anxiety levels. It helps reduce nightmares and symptoms of insomnia. CBD oil
can also help reduce fatigue and improve attention and concentration. CBD, in
fact, restores a regular heartbeat in the individual, results in less frantic
breathing and helps maintain natural body temperature, resulting in overall
relaxation due to the homeostatic and balancing effect of cannabidiol.

BENEFITS OF CBD OIL FOR MIGRAINE AND MUSCLE INFLAMMATION

CBD's anti-inflammatory properties also make it an effective treatment for
migraines, muscle-tensive headaches, or muscle inflammation. In fact, CBD oil
can get the better of even the most painful migraines, providing the relief needed to achieve well-being without the side effects generated by the use of traditional anti-inflammatories, which stress the gut microbiota.

TYPES OF CBD OILS

Three main forms of cannabidiol (CBD) can be found on the market for oil
formulation: pure isolated CBD, full-spectrum CBD, and broad-spectrum CBD.

What are the differences? The differences relate to the content of CBD and other hemp-derived substances in CBD oil.

ISOLATED CBD OIL

Isolated CBD is a pure crystalline form of CBD free of THC and other
cannabinoids or cannabis derivatives (such as terpenes or other minor
cannabinoids). It usually comes from hemp plants that typically contain very
low amounts of THC (light cannabis). This very pure form of CBD has no
discernible taste or odor. Because of its purity, isolated CBD oil can be a
suitable CBD product for first-time CBD users who wish to experience the
potential natural health benefits without the interference of other cannabis
compounds. Isolated CBD is also preferred by people who wish to take specific
doses of CBD alone to relieve medical conditions such as pain and inflammation.
In fact, isolated CBD can exert powerful anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving
effects only at a specific dose. As pointed out earlier, isolated CBD does not
contain any other chemicals derived from the cannabis sativa plant; therefore,
pure CBD oils may activate the endocannabinoid system to a lesser extent than
full, broad-spectrum extracts. This may result in a less potent full systemic
effect and less obvious health benefits.

FULL SPECTRUM CBD OIL

Full spectrum CBD is a less processed and refined product. Thus it is more
"natural" than isolated CBD. Full-spectrum CBD oil contains all the
metabolites of the cannabis plant, including "minor cannabinoids"
(e.g., cannabichromene, cannabigerol), terpenes (such as myrcene, limonene or
pinene) and low doses of THC. The combination of these substances is called the
cannabis phytocomplex. Full-spectrum CBD oil can produce greater effects than
isolated CBD because each of the molecules in the phytocomplex possesses health properties. In addition, the molecules in the phytocomplex work together and interact with our endocannabinoid system, amplifying its homeostatic functions. Researchers describe this property as the "entourage" effect.

BROAD SPECTRUM CBD OIL

Broad-spectrum CBD oil contains the entire phytocomplex of the cannabis
plant and only a few traces of THC in even smaller amounts than full-spectrum
CBD oil. This means that taking broad-spectrum CBD oil does not produce any
supposedly unwanted psychoactive or "high" effects. Like
full-spectrum CBD, however, broad-spectrum products can exert greater health
benefits than isolated CBD due to theentourage effect, by which other
substances and compounds specific to cannabis enhance and amplify CBD's mechanism
of action in perfect synergy with it.

It is worth mentioning that none of
these types of CBD is necessarily better than the other: the choice depends on
the effects and health benefits you are looking for!

DOES CBD OIL HAVE CONTRAINDICATIONS?

CBD oil has very few contraindications or side
effects; in any case, CBD has no lethal or fatally harmful side effects
.
In the few cases where such effects do occur, they are, however, minor side
effects that can be avoided by starting to take CBD oil at low dosages and
then possibly increasing them gradually. The most common are:

-sense of fatigue or drowsiness, easily
resolved by decreasing the dosage;

-dry mouth (temporary, which can be remedied by proper hydration);

-slight lowering of blood pressure;

-variations in appetite and decreased sense of hunger;

-nausea, vomiting, and other gastrointestinal discomfort: this side effect
generally is due more to the type of oil used as a carrier (MCT) (e.g. olive
oil or other natural oils) and not the CBD itself. This can be remedied by
choosing a product prepared with a different carrier oil.

IS CBD OIL LEGAL?

Briefly, the answer is: yes CBD is legal.

The online purchase and sale of CBD in Italy is allowed as long as the marketed
products contain less than 0.6 percent THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the
psychoactive component of cannabis; this value is relatively high compared to
other European nations. Specifically, Law No. 242 of 2016 expresses a
tolerability index toward the psychotropic of cannabis of 0.2% by allowing the
cultivation of EC-certified seeds with a THC ceiling at 0.2%; this law gives
the farmer tolerance < 0.6% for natural and biological causes of cultivation
and prohibits the sale of inflorescences for recreational purposes. So,
possession of products with THC levels of 0.6% or more is considered a crime
although not criminal in nature. Therefore, the sale of cannabis varieties with
high CBD and low THC content, varieties known as light cannabis, is
permitted in Italy. In any case, in order to buy in health and safety, it is
advisable to always rely on specialized and certified centers and to buy only
legally compliant products sold by reliable and certified retailers.

IS HEMP CULTIVATION LEGAL?

By the same Law No. 242 of 2016, the Italian government made it legal to
grow specific varieties of hemp with reduced THC content (

HOW LONG DOES CBD OIL TAKE TO WORK?

How quickly one will notice the effects of CBD
extract
on the body varies from person to person. In particular, it depends on the fat mass (the higher it is, the more CBD will "kick in"); the speed of metabolism; the concentration of the CBD oil (a 5 percent oil will take longer than a 30 percent oil); and the dosage (it is recommended, however, to always follow the dosage directions given by the manufacturer on the label).

Taking CBD oil sublingually, in any case, accelerates the absorption of the active ingredient, which quickly enters the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. Generally, the most
immediate effects
will occur around 15 to 20 minutes, while more
lasting and stable effects will take a few days (it is not, in fact, a drug,
but a 100% natural compound).

CBD OIL DOSAGE

First, it is important to point out that there is no "right" dose.

The amount of CBD oil to use depends on
a number of factors, including your weight, the severity of the condition you
are treating, and your body's tolerance to CBD. That said, there are some
general guidelines that can help you determine how much CBD oil to use. The
starting point for most people is to take a few drops and then, eventually,
gradually increase the dose until the desired effect is found.

CBD is a powerful and versatile product
that offers many health benefits, including relief from pain, inflammation,
anxiety and stress. Its effects are increasingly useful in the treatment of many
diseases and conditions that affect millions of people. However, it is
important to remember to purchase CBD and products derived from it from
certified, specialized companies and retailers and, together, before taking a
CBD product, consult your doctor so that you can take CBD safely and as needed,
especially if you are already taking other medications with which CBD might
interact.
